April 12th 2019. Uganda Baati Announces Uganda Shillings 20 Million Sponsorship to Promote Hockey Games in Uganda.

 Uganda Baati, the country’s leading manufacturer and supplier of quality roof sheets and steel building materials has today announced a sponsorship of Uganda Shillings 20 million towards the organisation and promotion of the National Hockey League 2019.

While handing over the cheque, Mr. George Arodi, the Business Head at Uganda Baati said, the company is pleased to sponsor the League because of its engagement of the best sides in the league and also because Hockey has a rich history compared with Uganda Baati’s heritage.

”We are happy to be part of this partnership and are looking forward to building a league that will change the Hockey games not only on the Ugandan scene but across the region. Hockey is a fantastic exercise that builds character and mental agility. We wish the teams the best of luck in this league” he said at the press briefing at the company’s offices in Kampala.

Uganda Baati is a member of the Safal Group of companies, the largest steel roofing company in Africa with a presence in 12 countries and 36 operations. The company is a pioneer in the manufacturing and supply of roofing materials and have the widest range of roofing products in aluminium-zinc coated and pre-painted material.

“We do believe that the investment (Uganda Shillings 20 million) we are making today will help spur the spirit of hockey games in Uganda and harness more public buy in and participation.”

“Your sponsorship will help us in ensuring we host a successful event that will provide a great experience for all that will attend,” Ms Lydia Sanyu Chairlady Uganda Hockey Association said.

The League will run for a period of ten months starting from March to December hosting 8 clubs, 13 sides and two categories (men and women) to be hosted at the National Hockey Stadium – Lugogo.
